Sticks and Stones

What intrigues me about photography is its compelling allusion to physical reality. This strong tie to the temporal gives photographic images the quality of having been derived from the “real” world. In creating my images, I retain a photographic connection to the physical form while fusing it with the more malleable processes of collage, drawing, and painting.

This fusion encourages an exploration of dichotomies:

floating and grounded

solid and translucent

imagined and concrete

mechanical and gestural
